| Mark R. Wada is Co-Chair of our Business Practice Group. Mark has a specialized practice representing corporations and other businesses, banks and other financial institutions. He has broad experience in handling corporate and commercial law matters, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions. Mark has handled numerous mergers and acquisitions for public and private companies throughout the western United States. He has extensive experience in representing commercial lenders and equipment lessors in commercial loan and lease documentation, real estate financings, workout negotiations, portfolio acquisitions, collections, and bankruptcy. Memberships/Affiliations Mark is a member of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association and the Business Law and Debtor-Creditor Sections of the Oregon State Bar. He is past-president and member of the Board of the Oregon Law Foundation and he also serves on the Board of Directors of the Campaign for Equal Justice. He is our firm representative for the Equipment Leasing Association. He has served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Oregon State Bar Debtor-Creditor Section and the Board of Directors of the Multnomah Bar Association, as well as its treasurer and representative to the American Bar Association House of Delegates. Mark is also a member of the Board of Directors and a past member of the Executive Committee of the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Oregon and Southwest Washington and received the Volunteer of the Year Award for 2006. He is serving on the Board for the Children's Healing Art Project. Mark received the Professionalism Award from the Multnomah Bar Association and the President's Affirmative Action Award from the Oregon State Bar. He has received an AV® rating by the Martindale-Hubbell National Law Directory. Mark was selected as an Oregon Super Lawyer in Oregon Super Lawyers magazine in November 2006. Education Mark received his law degree from the Cornell Law School with honors in 1978. He was the Business Editor for the Cornell International Law Journal. Mark received his undergraduate degree in 1975 from the University of Oregon in business administration where he was a member of the business honorary society, Beta Gamma Sigma.
