Andrea Nagles is an associate with the firm whose practice focuses on labor and employment law. She provides a wide array of labor and employment law services to employers in business and government. She advises employers on all areas of personnel law, including employee discipline and management, employee leave issues including FMLA/OFLA leave, wage and hour issues, and the development of personnel policies. She handles labor relations matters for both private and public sector employers, including employee grievances and collective bargaining matters. She also defends employers facing administrative complaints, including claims filed with the Bureau of Labor and Industries, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Employment Relations Board.
Prior to joining the labor and employment law group, Andrea’s practice focused on litigation, which included defending employers facing employment claims such as discrimination and sexual harassment. Andrea’s litigation background provides her with a thorough understanding of the variety of day-to-day legal issues employers face in the employment context.
Andrea was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 2004 and the U.S. District Court of Oregon in 2007. She is a member of the Lane County Bar Association, the Labor and Employment Section of the Oregon State Bar, the Ronald K. Rodman American Inns of Court and the Lane County Human Resource Association. Andrea is also a member of Oregon Women Lawyers, where she currently serves on the Steering Committee for Lane County Women Lawyers. She remains connected with her alma maters by volunteering as a judge for University of Oregon School of moot court competitions and by rooting for the University of Iowa football team.
Andrea received her law degree from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2004. During law school, she served as a Staff Editor and the Notes and Comments Editor for the Oregon Law Review. She received a B.A. in Sociology and Pre-Law from the University of Iowa, Iowa City.
