James P. Harrang founded the firm in 1957 (then known as Johnson, Johnson & Harrang) and served as Chairman of the Board up until his retirement in 2007. Jim specialized in business law and estate and trust planning, and he helped the firm grow to a general practice offering complete litigation, business, and government law services to its clients.
Stanton F. Long, a former Oregon Deputy Attorney General, joined the firm in 1968 and was a partner and then a shareholder in the firm from 1972 until his retirement at the end of 2009, except for 1988-1994 when he served as President of Oregon’s SAIF Corporation. Stan combined his substantial background in finance and insurance with his skills as a commercial litigator in providing legal services to business clients throughout the country.
William F. Gary served as President of the firm from 1990-2008 and he is currently the Chair of the Board of Directors. He specializes in trial and appellate law and has appeared in more than 1,400 appeals. Bill has argued more than 200 cases in the Oregon Supreme Court, the Oregon Court of Appeals, federal appellate courts, including the United States Supreme Court. Bill served as Oregon’s Solicitor General and Deputy Attorney General. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America.
Sharon A. Rudnick began her practice with the firm in 1983. She specializes in litigation and appellate law. Sharon became the first named woman shareholder in the firm's history when the firm was reorganized in 1994 as Harrang Long Gary Rudnick P.C. |
